Soccer Mom!

I am so excited! I just signed Chase up for soccer this summer. We just got our city's rec guide yesterday and I looked at all the activities available for 2 year olds. The only one I saw was gymnastics. When I asked around who wanted to do it with us my mommy friend told me there is soccer too. Just yesterday at the park Chase was kicking the ball around with other kids. Soccer hasn't really been a sport we were planning on putting Chase in but when it is the only option for 2 year olds and all my mommy friends are doing it...

*pretend that is a soccer ball. We have one we usually bring to the park.

Remember when Chase was about 3 months old my friend and I started going to a mommy support group? Well, I've kept in touch with some of the moms and even met moms that have kids a little bit older than Chase. Already 2 other moms have signed their kiddos up to play soccer with us and sounds like a few more will too. I love that I'm going to be a soccer mom with my mommy friends! I feel bad for the coach! I'm sure we'll be talking the whole time!

Last summer Chase took swimming lessons. Both sets of grandparents came to watch him during his swim lessons. I'm sure the grandparents and aunt and uncle will be coming out to watch him play soccer.

I might seem a little too excited for 2 year old soccer but this is really a dream and a prayer coming true for me. I've mentioned before what a dream come true it is for us to raise our son in this wonderful place. I love that there are so many parks and activites for us. I love most of all that we are so much closer to our parents and my brother and sister-in-law. If we were still in San Diego we might not have everyone able to come join in on the silly fun.

Spring Bucket List!

Spring fever has hit our home! Might have been from watching the spring chicken bubble guppy episode. But I decided to make one of those cute bucket lists you see around for the different seasons. I pinned it, tweeted it, and facebooked it. You are totally welcome to steal it. Have a wonderful spring everyone!!!

Meags lately

Hello! I realize it has been a lot of just pictures lately. Sorry! I have a few minutes here so I thought I would pop in and fill you in on my life lately.

We haven't been up to my in law's since Christmas! So Hubby requested Friday off and we drove up. I was excited that my bil and sil were coming up too. Since we were spending St. Patrick's day together Chase's Auntie brought him a cute shirt to wear.

I told you all that I'm getting a niece mid July right? I am so excited and have been buying way too much pink stuff and headbands!

Plus I've been super busy planning the shower. I think it is going to turn out super cute. I'll be taking lots of pics to show you all!

We got to spend a lot of time with family this weekend including Chase's great grandpa. Chase surprisingly has two great grandpas alive. This great grandpa recently moved to the same town as my in laws so hopefully we will be getting to spend more time with him!

They were hanging out eating chips together and great grandpa noticed Chase's feet were cold. My in laws have pretty slippery floors so I keep him in barefeet for better traction. So great grandpa gave Chase a foot massage! It was so cute.

We don't have much planned for Easter but I do need to get stuff for Chase's Easter basket and stuff to dye eggs!

Hope you are all doing well!

Click Chicks!!

I will admit that I was not very inspired by this week's theme. I decided I wanted to try and take a picture with a high aperture setting. I thought the park would be a good place to take a picture of a lot of grass. I definitely found my inspiration once I got to the park! I have 11 pictures that I love but forced myself to only post 3 this week.
I know I was messing around with the aperture setting. I think this is acutally a low aperture setting. Love how there are sun spots.
This is definitely a low aperture setting. See how the background is blurred? Isn't my bubba cute?!
Close up on low aperture setting. Background very blurry and I love it!!

Click Chicks photo challenge shadows

This week's challenge was shadows. I took my camera out early this week and planned to go to the park. Chase wanted to play basketball and then I saw some very cool shadows and started clicking away. I had such a hard time picking just one picture!

Chase set his sippy cup down on the driveway and I thought it was so cool that it made a colored shadow!

Here is a reminder of the schedule. I'm always excited for the next challenge!

Permission to post?

Some of you may have seen instagram or facebook pictures of texts with my dad. I think his bachelor comments are pretty funny so I posted them for all to see.

Well, I kind of got in trouble. He wasn't all that excited about seeing his texts that he thought he was only sending to me on facebook. It makes total sense.

I often see pictures of texts on instagram. When you post these pictures do you ask the person if you can post them? How would you feel if you were scrolling through and saw a text you sent?

The iphone makes it so easy to take a screen shot of anything and post it. I've even seen people post other people's facebook pictures.

I don't think my instagram friends are doing it to be mean but I just wanted to throw the idea out there that maybe we need to be asking people if we can post things.

We live in a weird time when anyone can snap a picture of anything and post it for the whole world to see.

God's baby line

Ok, I promise I don't plan to talk about miscarriage again. I just found out another friend is pregnant and while I was processing the sting something occured to me and I wanted to share it.

Someone tweeted me recently and said someone else getting pregnant is not taking anything away from me. I kind of agree with this but last night I thought of a better explanation for why it stings.

Let me for a minute discuss my situation. I stopped taking birth control at the end of March 2012. Yes, I was still nursing Chase but lots of women get pregnant when nursing. I remember telling my sil that I didn't want to drink because I wasn't taking birth control anymore. I think it is pretty common for women to hope and pray that as soon as they make the decision to get pregnant that it will happen quickly.

So what I thought about last night is it is kind of like getting in an imaginary line. When you make that decision to start trying it is like getting in God's baby line. I know that there are women who have been in line longer than I have and I have Chase but it still stings when someone that hasn't been waiting in line very long gets pregnant. I also understand that even getting pregnant at all is something some women might be jealous of.

But all of this doesn't change the fact that I feel like I've been in this line for almost a year with nothing to show for it. Yes it is a little like a kindergartner being pissed about someone cutting in line but that is kind of how it feels. Does that make sense?
