Thursday Thoughts!

When we signed up for Directv we got 3 months of movie channels for free. Caroline mentioned that she was watching Valentine's Day the other day and I had totally forgot that I had never seen it! Luckily it was on HBO! Seriously such a cute movie and everyone is in it!

I was glad it was on too cause my dvr is seriously empty! When are shows going to come back on?! Since I don't care if Harpo thinks I'm happy I'm watching RHOBH. I don't really like this show but the reunion is going to be on tonight so I'm catching up and hopefully the reunion is good. I feel so bad for Camille that she had to show her id to get into her apartment building!

Excited to watch the Shore tonight. I think MTV might have some kind of limit to how many times they can show people getting punched in the face after the snooki punch and the teen mom amber punch. Have you noticed sometimes the previews show Sammi punching Ronnie and sometimes they don't?

Tomorrow night my mom and I are going to a jewlery party! Hopefully it will be fun! Then at 8 I have to stop eating because I have to fast for 12 hours before I go to the lab and get the flat orange soda drink and sit there for 2 hours with no food or water so they can take my blood and make sure I don't have gestational diabetes. I am going to be such a wimp! I plan on tweeting my complaints to you all. I think I'm also going to ask the lab people if they have ever had someone faint. I am seriously like glad I'll be at the hospital in case something happens. My dad is taking me, I feel bad for him. I think we'll have to bring cards and books and lots to do for 2 hours! Ugh!

Then, my cousin is supposed to come over and see our house since she hasn't come over yet and will be in town. My dad and I were talking about doing some shopping on Saturday too. Exciting stuff like a pool scoop and an office chair. I think my in laws are coming down too. We bought a dishwasher last night that is getting delivered. We need my father in law to install the dishwasher and microwave. So excited to have a dishwasher! I think they might be bringing a double bed too. Do queen sheets fit on double beds? Cause I'm not buying sheets for a bed we might not keep for very long.

That's all that we have planned. We talked about doing something for my birthday this weekend. It's tuesday btw! Next weekend we are having our superbowl/house warming party! Go green bay!

Well hello there!

Two wonderful men came over to our house on Saturday. The first to ring our doorbell was from Comcast! He was there to set up our internet! The second was from Directv! He was there to set up out tv!

Let's talk about the house for a minute. I would show you pictures but then Neely would get herself in debt flying out to organize it because she wouldn't be able to sleep at night after seeing how many boxes we still need to unpack. It is a tri level house, meaning we have a main level with kitchen, living room, dining room. Then we have an upstairs with bedrooms and bathrooms. But we also have a level lower than the main level that has laundry, a bathroom, and this big room. My thoughts were if we didn't put a tv in that room we would never use it. The in laws also came up with a place to put a bar. It is now refered to as the man cave. I mostly don't care what goes on down there.

Now, the bar was covering the one cable outlet in the room. I heard the cable guy and Hubby discussing where to put the modem and router and had to step in quickly because they were talking about putting it where I plan to put my wine rack! So I fixed that problem. The other problem is we have a laptop and it makes things a heck of a lot easier if we are wireless. We were all set to go with the tvs, we went and bought a second one Saturday morning so it would be there for the directv guy, but we hadn't put much thought into the internet. I found an old wireless router we had never been able to get to work in Hubby's desk drawer. The first time I have been glad he is a hoarder. #1 problem, couldn't find the power cord! #2 problem, no idea what the password or anything is. Can you believe this angel sent to us from Comcast found a power cord that worked in his truck and was able to go to dell.com and set up a security password for us?! I know, angel!
Now, the Directv did some remodeling of our house, or what sounded like it, to get the ginormous hd dish attached to the house. He also had a make a hole in our wall and almost drilled through pipe. But everything is set up and only has one little weird issue that it doesn't obey you when you push buttons. It likes you to push buttons you don't actually want for a little while first. But whatevs I can catch up on the shore, teen mom, and bachelor. So my heart is happy again and I think in a few years I may be able to get the directv guy to come back and make more holes in different walls so I can have a big family room because I'm not loving the way it is currently set up.
I'm glad I was able to find time to blog today. I've been substitute teaching like every day since we moved into the house. I am trying to tell myself that I should be working while I still can. Gotta save up some money for all the things we want to do to the house and things to make it pretty. I woke up this morning with a stuffy nose and sore throat so my amazing husband said take the day off. He really is amazing you guys, I thought his expectations would be higher for the whole move and unpacking but he's been great. So I tell myself resting is sleeping in and catching up on the bachelor. I'm going to have to do stuff around the house because I can't live like this anymore! I need to see a light at the end of the tunnel!!

Show us your life Friday: Single Ladies!

There is only one person I could think of for show us your life single friends, my friend Neely! If there are any single guys interested they better act quick because she will not be single for long! I want her to find a good, fun, sweet, smart guy that will treat her right!

Anyone can see she is completely adorable. That's not why she will be taken off the market quickly. Her personality is why everyone loves her. She loves to have fun. She love to watch movies, go to concerts, spend time with friends and family, etc. She loves sports and watches more espn than my husband! She is a total health nut that loves to cook and bake. She loves to run and workout and enjoys half marathons and is currently attempting to train for a triathlon. She loves a good glass of wine, a good book and bad reality tv. She also loves board games

She has the biggest heart and has a lot of love to give. Right now she is getting her masters in education and has a lot of goals related to that. She wants to help and is currently applying for a program called Teach for America. She was born, raised, and currently lives in Dallas, TX and is 26 years old.

Updates

  • Remember awhile ago I blogged about needing a job. Most of you said you thought I should go back to substitute teaching. Well, that is what I decided to do. I don't know if you all realize what the life of a substitute teacher is like. First I had to get a school district to recommend me for getting fingerprinted. Then I had to pay $62 to get fingerprinted for this county. I have been fingerprinted in two-three other counties in the state. Yes, the state needs to figure out how to regulate this but its probably one of the few ways they actually make money so they aren't changing it. Then I have to fill out applications and get my test results from tests I have taken on my subject knowledge and if I have tuberculosis or not and my credential all together and take it in to the different districts. Then you wait. You wait for a call saying they need a substitute teacher. You don't know if you can do something with your friend on Friday, until Friday. You wake up and get ready in case they call. It is no fun!
  • We will be owners of a house in 8 days! We bought a couch, love seat, coffee table, and two end tables last weekend. So excited that we will have nice furniture in our living room when you first walk into our house. I'm trying to be good and not spend all our emergency fund on new furniture. But I'm also ready to not have everyone's hand-me-downs and have a college looking place. Everyone is still trying to hand us down furniture though.
That is pretty much all that is going on around here. Let me know if you have something exciting going on that I haven't read about yet!
