I put a raw amber teething anklet on my son.
People ask us all the time about his anklet. I can tell they think it is weird. My cousin's husband made fun of him and I think called him girly or something.
I am still breast feeding my son. He is a year old.
Today someone said it was weird to them to breast feed past one.
A friend of mine thought it would be weird to breast feed my son because he is tall.
Those two comments about breast feeding are bothering me today.
This year I'm working on being secure in the choices I've made as a mom.
I'm getting there.
Love you friend. You're a great mom and you are making the best decision for you and your child!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure people think I'm weird because I didn't BF longer than I did. Or I didn't go to the ends of the earth to work on my production since we were a supply/demand issue.
ReplyDeletePeople are always going to have their own opinions and share them freely and openly.. Personally, that's the problem with opinions ;) (I'm kidding.. mostly.. LOL)
Just keep reminding yourself that you are doing what is best for YOU, YOUR CHILD and YOUR FAMILY. That is all that matters. ;)
Being a mom is hard. Hearing crap from other people makes it even harder. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteYour making the RIGHT decisions for your family, don't let it get to you what they say.
ReplyDeleteYou know, our daycare teachers often make me feel weird. They give me the craziest looks with some of my childcare requests. And they always throw me for a loop. One person's weird is another person's normal...and vice versus. Stick with you intuition. You are such a great mama :)
ReplyDeleteI need to be doing the same thing. My girl just turned 8 mos old & I have some very insecure moments.
ReplyDeleteWell, Girl...YOU KNOW I DONT THINK YOU ARE WEIRD.
ReplyDeleteLet them think that all they want...you will see- your choices will pay off...and im sure they already have :)
