Dun, dun, dun... FB!

A friend of mine gave up facebook for 40 days. I love that she did that. It is so funny that I had to get her email address to send her those blog posts on marriage that I recently posted about. I have to text her if I want to make plans with her.

I've been trying to stay off facebook for 24 hours. It is hard!

When I was just typing the paragraph above the thought occurred to me that maybe I should tell all my friends and family that I'm going to give up facebook, texting, and tweeting and make people have to actually call me. But then I remembered I don't like talking on the phone.

Facebook can be such a time suck though. You go to check one thing and then 10 minutes go by. I know I will probably delete my account some day. I keep talking about it. I am in a few mom groups though that are so helpful and we all know I'm passionate (I just had the hardest time spelling that)about helping other mommas. So I keep it for that reason.

How long could you go without facebook? Could you give up facebook, texting, and tweeting and make people call you?

  2. I couldn't ever give it up. That and texting is how I communicate with people. I did start using Minutesplease.com and that has helped.

  3. I totally feel you! Oh my gosh! 1 minute you are on FB for something and then you get caught up with something totally different and you forget what you went there for in the first place! Crazy! I wish I could give up FB, but I think that I rely on it too much to keep in touch with ppl....that I don't necessarily WANT to talk to.. HA!

  4. I can't stand the phone so Facebook has been my way to stay in touch with friends and family from far away.
I've had to cut way back though with my kids getting older.

  7. I had to give it ALL Up this past weekend- we were up in Maine with NO cell service most of the time. It felt REALLY good. My husband doesnt use fb for the reason that he does NOT want people to communicate with him that way.

  9. My step-SIL gave up FB for lent one year, and she had just found out she was pregnant! By the time she came back on and made her announcement, she was almost 20 weeks along! I would never be able to keep something like that quiet for so long!

I despise talking on the phone and anyone who knows me well knows to only call if it's an emergency, or something too long to text. I'm honestly over Facebook, but I do have 2 private mom groups on there that I love and don't want to leave. They're helped me so much and some days that's my only adult interaction until my husband comes home. FB is also the best way to let all 3 sets of grandparents see pictures of Landon and what he's up to, so those are the main reasons I keep my account. Most of my family doesn't know about my blog and I'd like to keep it that way :)

I'm so close to deleting Twitter and possibly FB off of my phone. I'm really trying hard to focus on Landon during the day, but constantly hearing the buzzes on my phone for email, FB, and Twitter makes it hard because I want to go check my phone.
