My little cousin is getting married!!!

Finally I feel like I thought of something interesting to write about!

I have been getting a little teary eyed all day thinking about the big wedding this weekend. Don't know if my emotions will last all the way until Saturday but we will see. Rob try not to cry while saying your vows or I will for sure lose it!


This Saturday, August 1st, my younger cousin Allison is becoming a wife! She is the first younger cousin to get hitched and I'm surprised by the teary eyes. I keep thinking of her little chubby cheeks in our family photo albums and all the hand-me-down clothes I gave her! On Saturday I know she is going to look amazing and she won't be wearing a hand-me-down!

Now some of you may not now the love story of Allison and Robin. She likes to say they met at a "club" in college. She thinks thats cooler than telling the whole truth. But I think the whole truth is so cute! The met in a Republican club at school! I love that they have that in common. Thats not all they have in common. Allison of course comes from a wonderful family. From what I've heard, I'll let you know after Saturday, Rob comes from a pretty wonderful family too. I know that their common values and support systems will help make there's a marriage that will last a lifetime. Above all that they are madly in love with eachother! They beam every time they catch each other's eyes. In fact a few of us suspected Rob was ready to pop the question and I begged him to wait until my boyfriend proposed. Don't want to look like an old maid! But he couldn't wait! He surprised her in Disneyland. A place every little girl finds so magical. Their proposal pictures are so adorable!

Well little cousin! I think Rob is going to make you an honest woman Saturday. I don't know what that saying means but I hope we grow even closer as we start this crazy journey into adulthood as wives!! Maybe someday I will be handing down some maternity clothes, huh?! Everyone calm down! Someday. Nothing to get excited about yet except Allie and Rob's wedding! Let's party!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love you both! Congrats!!!

Two books finished in 1 day!

Its incredible difficult to find things to blog about when you are UNEMPLOYED!

I wish my days were filled with outings, shopping, and sun bathing. I feel guilty doing these activities. I feel like I should be spending 10 hours a day searching for jobs.

Due to the fact that I've only got a few more steps in my process of getting a job, the hunting has slowed considerably. So I have allowed myself to read.

I had to wait several months for the 4th book in the Twilight series. I know, I know. Twilight? Really? Yeah, I love the books! Two years ago some tweens that I worked with were gushing about this hot vampire and I thought, "Um, these girls are so sad". Now I do not, as these girls did, want to date Edward. I am all for following their lifestyle, if it was possible, and becoming a vampire. Anyways, when more and more people became obsessed with these books I gave in and read the first one. I read it in a weekend. I got the 4th book on Monday and finished it Thursday. 900 pages.

Then when I turned Breaking Dawn in today, Jenny McCathy's Belly Laughs was waiting for me. Its 165 pages. Finished it in 2 hours.

Now back to reading Michael J. Fox's 2nd book and after that a Janet Evanovich.

Time flies when you are having fun

oops there went a month!

I guess I was busy working at the begining of this month.

Then I had my wedding shower in Nor Cal. I had a lot of fun playing games with the girls. Of course got to see my newly engaged friend's ring. I also loved getting to see the little guys in the family. My little honorary ring bearers. Since one is 3 months old and the other about a year and a half we don't think they will be putting on teenie tuxs for the wedding but when they are older they will know I wanted them to be a part of it. The wedding shower day was crazy because my mom and I had a meeting at the mansion where my fiance and I are getting married to discuss flowers, cake, menu etc. This meeting was a short one (just an hour). Still have a few things to figure out, like how much booze everyone is going to drink.

I got back to our tiny apartment here in So Cal Sunday evening. Only my scrapbook stuff fit in my carry on. The humiliating part was I needed assistance getting it into the overhead compartment. This happens on a regular basis so I am used to it. I have since made room for some of the gifts, just have to make the drive back up there to get them.

Monday, Curtis and I went to Men's Wearhouse. Two hours spent there picking out the 10 things our guys in our wedding will wear. They are going to be so handsome! I can't wait!

Then the job hunt began. At first I was non stop job hunting. I had an interview with a temp agency and feel like they might be able to find me some stuff to do. I felt like I couldn't do anything but job hunt. Now I have paid all my bills for July and have been able to do some other stuff around the house and what not. Looking forward to spending the three day weekend with my fiance and friends.

MTV Movie Awards

The annual MTV Movie awards was on this Sunday. If you didn't watch it I'm sure it will be on a thousand more times. This year MTV accomplished enough their lifetime goal of creating enough drama for people to be talking about it.


Here's my opinion:
1. Andy Sandburg was a pretty good host. He cracks me up on SNL and he didn't offend or bore me.
2. Megan Fox was a poor sport by sitting in the audience like she was too cool during Andy's song and is uglier in person than in the transformer movies.
3. Cameron Diaz is goregous and hilarious!
4. Sasha Baron Cohen is rude and crude. Thought so since Borat hasn't changed my mind but I do hope Paula is in the new movie.
5. Eminem is a good rapper and actor. I don't think he was lip syncing and he did know about the balls to the face sketch. But I really thought he and his thugs were mad.
6. Twilight the movie was not that good people and Robert Pattison is not attractive! I am excited for the next movie the trailer looked really good! Kristen Stewart is a very awkward person.

Dreams Do Come True

I'm back kids! I had a crazy busy week followed by a crazy busy weekend away from home! My suitcase and dirty laundry are still laying on the floor by the front door! I don't know how I can feel like I need a day off after a four day weekend. Hoping to have a productive/relaxing weekend. Can't decide if I will enjoy the relaxing more on Sunday if Saturday is productive. Probably. Probably won't happen though.


Not only am I behind on my laundry, I am super behind on my tv shows. So excited by the way for summer shows!! So I just watched the One Tree Hill finale last night. I heard my "friend" Geena's blog about the episode on Tuesday May 26th when I was driving to work. But hearing it and watching it last night made me think.


While they were all contemplating life this was said, "Take a look at your self in the mirror. Who is the person looking back? Is it the person you want to be? Or is there someone else you were meant to be? The person you should've been but fell short of. Is someone telling you you can't or you won't? Because you can. Believe that love is out there. Believe that dreams come true everyday because they do. Sometimes happiness doesn't come from money or fame or power. Sometimes happiness comes from good friends and family and from the quiet nobility of living a good life. So take a look in that mirror and remind yourself to be happy because you deserve to be, believe that. And believe that dreams come true everyday because they do."


This time last year I was having a similar struggle to this year. I struggle with finding a job just for the summer or making a career change because my chosen profession seems impossible to get into. The reality of that dream not coming true had be really upset yesterday but after watching one tree hill (yes i know thats sad) I started thinking about what dreams of mine have come true.


I told my fiance today that I am so glad I am marrying him for so many different reasons. We all know after the five years we dated that marrying him really is a dream come true. Another kind of silly dream of mine is coming true tomorrow, which I will talk about more later. My point is that I can see some dreams coming true and I have to keep hoping that some day my professional dream will come true. But if it doesn't, the rest won't be too shabby!

Jon and Kate plus 8

I am a huge fan of the show Jon and Kate plus 8. I think their kids are so cute. They say the funniest things. What is going on in the media with them right now is devastating. At dinner tonight with my friend Nicole we both admitted that all of this is breaking our hearts. To go from watching this family fly to hawaii last season and renew their vows to show their children that they are always going to be together to now she is on the cover of people saying they might split up? The big shocker for me is that her brother is coming out saying negative things about her. I don't know what family would do that to each other.


It seems like time and time again these people go on a reality show and then it ruins their life. Do you think maybe its time to stop going on reality shows people? The new season of Jon and Kate starts on memorial day and TLC is saying its their story in their words but I heard they aren't really going to discuss their problems on the show. We will see and only time will tell. As Curtis said, "How can you get a divorce when you have that many kids?" Don't know and like they said on the radio child support for 8 kids is gonna be expensive!

Getting in shape

As I said in my first blog I am trying to get in shape for my honeymoon. I think we all know that "I want to look great in a bikini" feeling. I have weighed about the same for the last seven years or so. I can remember a time in college when I was dancing every day. My aol instant messenger even said if I am not here I'm probably at Acker because I had classes there all day long. I stepped on the scale at this time and saw the highest weight I've ever seen. Now I know muscle weighs more than fat, but I don't like the number I see! After Curtis and I got engaged we got a really bad flu, no not the swine flu, but he had a 103 temperature at one time. I weighed myself after being sick and I was about 6 pounds lighter than I am now. So obviously since being sick I have gained 6 pounds. 6 pounds in about 2 or 2 1/2 months of watching calories and increasing my cardio! Why is this happening?


I got a magazine yesterday and one of the tid bits in it was if you struggle with losing that last 5 pounds that you are genetically supposed to have them. I feel like thats just going to give people an excuse to give up on losing those last five pounds. I also don't know what my last five pounds would be. My mom and dad went on a cruise and had all these crazy body fat tests done or something and they told them how much weight they need to lose so my mom reached her goal they set for her which is so great. I need someone to tell me how much weight I need to lose.
