Austin you are almost 2!

Oh my big silly boy, I can't believe you are almost a two year old! You are my little Chase never stops talking junior. I can't believe how much you are saying at two years old. Love when you say "right there" and "thank you, mama".
You weigh about thirty pounds which seems huge to us but I think Chase weighed more when he was two.
You cuddle and relax more than Ky.
You have to wear your jammies backwards to sleep now too. When you dance you spin around with one foot. You love shooting baskets. All three of you love jumping on the trampoline. You love to hit the baseball and play catch.
You are still a very passionate kisser.
Thank you for being easy sometimes and giving things back to your brothers.
These two years with you in our family have been crazy and wonderful. We have laughed and kissed and cuddled so much. I look forward to lots more!!!

Kyle you are a few days from 2

I can't believe you are almost two years old, Buddy! I feel like you and your brother were just turning 1! At the beginning of this year, you were just starting to walk across the room and now you are walking down the stairs without holding on to the rail (even though we all tell you to) and using the potty before getting in the shower.
Today, we visited your old physical therapy clinic. It was great to see familiar faces. I can't believe how much time has passed since we were going there once a week. You were so quiet when we were there. You talk more with me but you are definitely the quiet one of our three boys.
You are such a silly dare devil still. You are always climbing and jumping. I say "get down Kyle and sit down Kyle" several times a day. If you fall and get hurt you go right back to whatever you were doing. You are always getting in to stuff and trying to get stuff off the counter.
When Austin first started saying your name he said "Ky" so we often call you Ky or Ky guy or Ky Ky.
You like veggies the most of our kiddos. You also love salmon.
You love paw patrol, blaze and super why.
You love sleeping with your choo choo and you need more sleep than Austin. You were the first to have to be put in backwards pjs for sleep.
You have caught up to Austin in height. You are only a half inch shorter. You are 3 pounds lighter though.
You have become a total Daddy's boy. Most nights Daddy puts you in your crib for bed. If Daddy leaves the room you get so upset. When he comes home you just hug in forever.
You love to dance. Your quick knee bends and freeze crack me up.
You are my runner. Everyone says how fast you are. I just wish you wouldn't always run away from me and into the street!
You are our special little Ky Ky and we couldn't love you more. Happy birthday. I look forward to a wonderful year watching you grow and learn more.

Kyle and Austin are 16 months

I have been blogging and trying to remember everything with Chase starting school. You two monkeys have been up to a lot that I don't want to forget either!
Now that you are 16 months and big brother has school twice a week our morning nursing sessions have ended. It was time and you've given me a couple nights of ok sleep or going back to sleep after I rub orajel on your molars so we are done. I was a little sad but mostly happy.
Austin aka Chunky Monkey is still a chunk. You are hilarious too. Last night I was telling Daddy about our dance party with Grandma and your crazy legs and turns and running around the kitchen island. I love you so much. You are such a snuggler. You love when Grandma comes because she will hold you.

Your zip up jammies are always unzipped. I like that Grandma said you do it to give your belly more room. You are still ball obsessed. You are still dramatic. You love to play peekaboo. You love to read books. You love to sit in the weirdest things.

We have been hanging out at Nana and Papa's pool since its summer and hot. You are pretty content to float around a splash a little. You even try to kick your legs.

We think you are starting to say some words. Papa sounds like Baba and you make a ch sound for Chase. You love to cheers and say a chss sound. Oh the kisses from you! Amazing!
Kyle Crocodile, I think you are getting your bottom molars and it is making you a little pissy lately but my goodness you let us know when you are frustrated! You aren't so content to float in the pool. You think you can swim and/or drink the water. You are always trying to get out of everyone's arms and the floatie. You are still our smallest child. You are still high maintenance and usually end up in Mama's arms. You are still the first to smile at strangers and recently someone called you the sweet one. It made both your grandmothers laugh. Oh, I didn't write a blog update when you graduated from therapy! Your neck is looking awesome. I still see a tilt every once in awhile but we have the tools and resources and think it will continue to improve. Oh my Kyle, when you do something silly and crack yourself up nothing brings a bigger smile to my face. You love being silly. You don't seem to attempt as many words as Austin. But you do talk in your own little language. You love to talk on the phone. Oh Kyle, you love to vacuum!

You are a big fan of kissing too. You have your own little Kyle dance move spin around with one arm out. You finally started clapping. You love to run. You still love cars and planes and helicopters and dinosaurs. You love to cheers too. You are a daredevil. You fell off the retaining wall in the backyard and got a nasty bruise on your forehead. You love to eat sand. You put a lot of stuff in your mouth. You love to eat books.

Happy Birthday Austin

Chunky monkey,
My baby, the younger bigger one, the big guy. You, baby b, were such a stinker when the doctor was trying to get you out. I watched the video of your birth today and when they finally got you out put you on my chest all cleaned up I called you chunky monkey. Once you were out you had a lot of fluid in your lungs and they almost had to take you to the nicu. The nurses worked really hard to keep you with us. It was scary and a little dramatic. You can still be a drama baby.
The instant you spot daddy or papa you insist they pick you up or the world will end. You are also very dramatic if they put you down or if someone takes something away from you.
This year there have been many times you have reminded us of your big brother Chase. You started off looking a lot like him. We often say you are his clone or mini me. You hit a lot of your milestones around the same time as Chase. You were both walking across the room on your 11 month birthday and you both love balls. You are both pretty silly. One of your favorite things to do was stick your tongue out and make a bbrrppff noise.
You are always following Chase around and trying to throw him a ball.
You are such a cuddle bug. You love to sleep in mommy and daddy's bed. I honestly don't mind but sometimes Kyle needs mommy too and it gets a little crowded or you get jealous that he is getting milk.
You are a pretty happy and easy going guy.
Daddy and I wanted a family with 3 babies. I knew you were a boy and I wanted all boys. The second I saw you on the ultrasound screen I fell in love and was so worried about you. I thank God every day for giving you to me. Our song is "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes because I want you to know you were always wanted.
And I just wanna wrap you up
Wanna kiss your lips
I wanna make you feel wanted
And I wanna call you mine
Wanna hold your hand forever
And never let you forget it
Yeah I wanna make you feel wanted
Baby I wanna make you feel wanted
You'll always be wanted
Oh, my sweet chunky monkey, I pray you continue to be silly and love your brothers and the rest of the family. We wanted 3 babies, didn't expect 2 of them to come at the same time but we are so grateful that you did. I look forward to seeing your relationship with Kyle and Chase grow. We all love you so much! Happy first birthday!

Happy Birthday Kyle

Kyle the Crocodile with a smile,
My middle child, the older smaller one, little guy. You, baby a, were always the one giving us problems when you were in my tummy. You would be difficult when they were trying to get certain measurements and lazy during the non stress tests. I watched the video of your birth today. After the nurses cleaned you up, weighed you, and I gave birth to your brother, they wrapped you up and placed you on my chest. You were so calm and content and looking around. I'm not really sure when that changed. You, my sweet boy, can be high maintenance some times.
You are overall a pretty happy kiddo. You do love to smile at everyone. But if you are unhappy you let us all know. There are times you did not enjoy the car seat. You started off being a mama's boy.
I hesitate to talk about your torticollis and therapy but it has been such a big part of this year. When I was watching your birth video I pointed out to your daddy your indented jaw. We knew right away that your neck muscle was tight. We started therapy at 12 weeks. That was our special mama and Kyle time. Plus all the time I spent with you at home stretching your neck. You have been awesome in therapy and your neck is getting so much better.
You think everything Chase does is hilarious. I love watching the three of you play together.
Daddy and I always wanted 3 babies. We were ready to give Chase a sibling pretty quickly. You and your brother had your own plans, God's plan, and I wouldn't change a thing.
I thank God every day that he gave me you. I'm so grateful that we were blessed with 3 healthy, adorable and perfect babies. I love that you are a cuddle bug just like your brothers. I'm so lucky that I have been able to stay home with you this year and that you are exclusively breast fed.
Kyle, I hope you continue to share your smile with the world. I pray you continue to be healthy and happy. You are so loved our middle boy. Happy first birthday!

Can't believe my babies are half a year old! They are the happiest babies most of the time and we just adore them. Austin is getting up on his knees and getting across the room by scooting and has his first tooth!

Kyle and Austin 3 months

3 months! Love my chubby little monkeys!

They both slept through the night a couple nights ago so mama is very happy about that!

Kyle is our little talker just cooing away at anyone that will talk to him.

Both boys giving lots of big smiles but I couldn't get them to smile for the camera today.

They are smaller than big brother Chase. He was in 6 month clothes at this age and they fit perfectly in 3 months. Wearing size 1 diapers but need to move up to 2s.

Kyle and Austin 1 month

Kyle and Austin are 1 month old! Begin time warp speed!

There isn't too much to talk about during the first month. They slept a lot. They ate a lot. They needed a lot of diaper changes.

I was feeding them every 2 hours after they were first born to get them back to birth weight. It took a little longer than two weeks and Austin needed a pumped bottle to supplement. Now that they are back to birth weight I am just nursing them. Austin needs a nipple shield sometimes but it has been nice to have a break from pumping. I plan to pump soon and try a bottle with Kyle soon.

I don't want to jinx things and talk about sleep.

At first nursing sessions were taking 90 minutes sometimes and it took awhile to figure out a good time during the day to nurse them when I would have time to eat lunch with Chase and put him down for a nap. I try to nurse them around 7am and then again at 10am, 12:30pm after Chase is asleep and then around 3pm, 5:30, and then 8. I was nursing them at 10 too but I'm going to try and drop the 10pm feeding since Austin is screaming during it and Kyle was up at 1 something last night.

We are so happy that our little boys are here and healthy and adorable. We are excited we made it through the first month and are looking forward to more time with them awake. Can't believe we are already done with the squishy first few weeks!

Birth Story part 2

When I left off I was being wheeled to the o.r.

When we had Chase we were in a big room with just a nurse. The o.r. was a smaller room with bright lights and a crowd. Everything was different from the things my legs were in to Hubby not holding my leg.

I pushed for probably 15 or 20 minutes. I felt like with each push Kyle would be arriving. I also had my amazing doctor, who had cried with me the day before about making our decision, there motivating me. Once his head was out everyone was telling me to open my eyes and I tried to ignore them since I didn't enjoy seeing Chase like that but I opened my eyes and saw my goopy son make his arrival into the world. Then they placed his goopy self on me and I didn't know what to do. He was goopy!

The nurses took him away to clean him up and measure him and we started trying to get Austin in position. There was another doctor there to help my doctor and they used an ultrasound. Austin, our problem child, kept trying to stick his hand out. My doctor said I'm holding his hand and at one point she was holding his foot.

There was a moment when the room went silent and I could see it in my doctor's face that she was about to make the call to do a c section to get Austin out. I sent up some serious prayers. In a matter of seconds they were telling me to push and they got a vacuum and he arrived! I don't even remember if they put Austin on my chest before cleaning him up.

The next thing I remember is getting a clean and eerily quiet Kyle put on my chest. I'm assuming the placentas were delivered. I don't even know if one came out after Kyle and then one after Austin or how that all works. My doctor had to stitch me up and then they wheeled me back to the delivery room to recover for a little while.

Our family saw the boys when Hubby was walking back with them and then they went to lunch so we had some time to try and get them to nurse and they got their first baths. Austin had inhaled a lot of amniotic fluid and was making some concerning grunting noises and our sweet friend the nurse was doing everything she could to keep him with us.

I'm still so amazed that I carried these boys to 38 weeks. Had them vaginally. They spent no time in the nicu. We left the hospital the next day. I'm so grateful for this outcome and of course two perfectly healthy baby boys! God is so good!

They are here! and part 1 of the birth story

I know it has been over a week, I'm sure most of you follow me on instagram and already know that the twins have arrived but I thought I should post here just in case.
Let me introduce Kyle Henry born 2/20/14 at 10:53am weighing 5lbs 14oz and Austin Daley born 2/20/14 at 11:11am weighing 7lbs 1oz.
Our family is complete and we couldn't be happier!

Since I have a few more minutes let me get started with the birth story.
Here I am at 38 weeks pregnant the day before my induction. I didn't mention in my 37 week post that my dr said I was 4 cms dilated. The plan was to arrive at the hospital at 6am and start Pitocin since I was already 4cms. Then my dr would arrive around 8am and break my water.

We got to the hospital at 6am but I guess the orders my dr had sent over were blank so they waited until 7ish I think to start the Pitocin. When my dr got there at 8am she was annoyed they hadn't started the Pitocin early. She tried to break my water but was not able to. That was fun. So they kept uping the Pitocin by 2 every half hour hoping I would make progress so she could break my water and I could get an epidural.

I had some contractions and thought I was making progress. They got the Pitocin up to 17 and tried to break my water again and were again not successful. The dr and nurse did not want to go any higher with the Pitocin so we turned it off. We were given a few options. We could go home and come back in a few days. We could go home and come back at 10pm and start cytotec. We could start cytotec in 4 hours when the Pitocin was out of my system or we could do a c section.

This was one of the hardest decisions we have had to make. I wanted to avoid a c section as much as possible. We didn't think the cytotec would work and once they started the cytotec we would have to stay even if that meant a c section. We ultimately decided what was best for our family was to stay in the hospital for the 4 hours and wait for the Pitocin to get out of my system and then start the cytotec.

So we hung out and had dinner and watched tv and Chase came to visit. We started the cytotec at 8pm. Every 6 hours you add another tablet. I hadn't progressed much by the 2am add another tablet. At 4:30am I was having bad contractions. I made Hubby get out of his bed so he could hold my hand. I might have threatened to stab him or kick him in the balls. I think that is a good indicator for epidural time. I think I was at 6cms when they gave me the epidural.

The plan was for my dr to come in around 10am and break my water and the nurse assumed I would be completely dilated. They were right. They wheeled me to the o.r. All twins are delivered in the o.r....

And I hear the twins waking up. To be continued...
